Hello, my name is Sal. I just joined this community about two weeks ago or so. I've been a big Starsailor fan for a few years now and love everything they've done. I was just curious, has James been in any other bands before Starsailor? I feel like he is the most well known and talked about member of the band and wouldn't mind hearing anything else he has done in his career. Sidenote: I feel completely out of touch with this awesome band, being in the U.S. and all...

Thanks for the help!

Im new to this community , but not at all new to Starsailor. I LOVE their sound, and the lyrics just make me melt. I must admit, that having suchca person as James as a lead vocalist doesnt hurt at all, seeing that he's hotter than the cup of tea I have in front of me <33 so yes, I adore them. I cant believe Ive never thought of joining a Ss community until just now :/ How absurd.

Does anyone else but me, and I love Starsailor don't get me wrong, but does anyone else think the lyrics are kind of trite and stupid?
Now, I only own Love is Here, but that was my total opinion on it that it was good, but they lyrics were really lacking.

Just wondering if anyone else thought that.

Phenominal! [26 Jan 2004|10:47pm]

Okay, following suit, I'm new. My name is Sarah, I go by Sari thanks to 3 little nephews who can't say my name.

I just saw the boys at the Theater Of the Living Arts in Philadelphia on the 23rd. Completely missed the opening act. Show was great otherwise. The boys were asked to sing "My Girl" and complied! James went on a rant about other british bands (i.e. Oasis) and it was quite amusing.

Not being able to buy the new cd yet (even though my boyfriend imported it) because I am a poor college student, the show was awesome despite not knowing the new songs.

Two weeks: Stereophonics.

So, Hi. I'm Jill, blah blah blah.

Like the last post, I also and quite new to this group. I started listening to them by suggestion on a friend that is from the UK. This sounds like an interview....

I just saw them perform at a small venue in Michigan, St. Andrews. ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. I have been going to concerts for 8 years now, and a 5 year span of going to shows and St. Andrews everyweek, and free tickets to our outdoor and indoor concert areans ( not too often..)If you ever get the chance to see, them or if they are even 200 miles away from your home town, GO!. Jame's Walsh's voice was so clear, and did not deviate much from either album. Stelfox made smoking look soooo cool-ha!. I hope everyone that is a fan can one day see them. Also i took my best friend, who really hasn't listened to them much, and she went out and bought there Love is Here album, and loved it!... $17.50 was a steal.

Alright, not the best, but thought I would share~

hey guys... i'm new to this group so hey..
just a little question now.
so my interests in starsailor are actually quite newfound, i only started listening to them a little while ago... and i was on their website www.starsailor.net and i found that they let you listen to all the tracks on the cd silence is easy... well i clicked the song silence is easy and got to listen to a very very good song... now whenever i try to download it off kazaa, each and every file i download does the exact same thing: it plays the beginning of a certain starsailor song (but it's definitely not the same one as silence as easy), then it plays the beginning again, then it plays the beginning a 3rd time, and then even though there are still about 5 minutes of the song left, the file just randomly stops playing. it's sooo weird, and it happens with each and every file i try.
i'm a little confused.. any help please?

silence is easy... [03 Aug 2003|09:03pm]

i know this might find the ire of record company execs, but thanks to the internet i've got the new album a few months early. the verdict? well, i'm still blown away. i've been a fan and a believer since i saw them open for doves in dublin almost 3 years ago, but i could not have expected this.

silence is easy is quite simply the best album i've ever heard (displacing pearl jam's vitalogy). the only album i can really compare it to (and some will hate me for this) would be coldplay's a rush of blood to the head, not for sound, but rather for the confidence and maturity evident in the music. the thing is, no matter how good some might think coldplay's sophomore effort was, sie blows it out of the water. love is here pales in comparison. if you remained a doubter (and with all the hype around the band a few years ago this is very possible), this album is reason to finally believe the hype. actually, it's substantially more than reason enough, it's perfect

the songs are masterful, the instrumentation deep and impeccable. each song has its own identity, from the power of 'silence is easy' to the lush orchestral atmospherics of 'telling them' to the big band feel of 'bring my love' to the disco of 'four to the floor' to the... (you get the point). and james has somehow added not only warmth, but also range to his vocal quality. his delivery of some of the lines on this record is beyond words.

it's quite evident from listening that starsailor are no longer looking to others for inspiration but are rather creating themselves (refreshingly, this album will not garner comparisons to jeff buckley). i knew this would happen, but not quite so quickly.

i really don't know how i was able to write all that... it's hard to put this into words and still be coherent. i've been listening to the album for a week now, and i'm still blown away. cheers all around.
